2 out of 5 stars The Legend of Spyro: A New Disappoinment   June 21, 2008
I do not like this game and I haven't even finished it yet. Insomniac did the Spyro games the best. I disagree with the reviewer who said the games went downhill when they migrated to the GameCube. I think they started going downhill with Enter the Dragon. That game was a major disappointment for me because while it did have mini-games and sub-levels there was only one world to explore. I liked A Hero's Tail better but it still wasn't up to par with the titles for the original PlayStation.
This game is just boring! Every five seconds you're confronted by enemies and there is nothing to collect aside from the gems which allow you to refill your magic, health and upgrade each type of breath. The game is so dark you can't make out any detail on much of the scenery and Spyro isn't the mischievious little purple pyro I love(d). Instead he tells you "It's okay we can try again." or "I better try harder this time." And Sparx talking is dumb. I don't like that much either.
I honestly think that if there are going to be any more Spyro games after Dawn of the Dragon they should be done by Insomniac and if Insomniac doesn't want to do them anymore then just leave it at that, no more games. Universal/Sierra/Vivendi successfully ruined this series of games and took the fun out of them.... at least for me.

4 out of 5 stars The Legend Of Spyro   January 14, 2008

I bought this for my 12 year old, daughter. She is fascinated, challenged and frightened by it, all at the same time. This is her first experience with Wii. It took her a few hours and at first it was a bit frustrating to figure out all the different aspects of the game, and how to use the nunchuk to conrol Spyro. She has it down now and even though she knows how to control Spyro, it still is challenging, fun, and frightening.

5 out of 5 stars More action then the original   January 13, 2008
I've played this game for about 10+ hours so far and love it. The controls are pretty good. The camera movement works better then other games I've played. And this game is packed full of action. The only warning I would give is that if you've only played some of the original Spyro games then you'll be in for a shock. This game has almost all fighting and no puzzles or races. The early Spyro games were just the opposite. But I actually prefer the game this way then with a bunch of silly races or puzzles.

3 out of 5 stars good game, but nothing special for the wii   January 6, 2008

This is a really good game, but there are no special features that utilize the wii. You might as well play this on a gamecube with the traditional controller.

2 out of 5 stars Spyro goes downhill   December 27, 2007

Rent it! But don't buy it.

Its Ok but lacks the elements of fun that the other spyro games had. The gameplay is good but seems to be a little too difficult and focused on battles to be a game meant for kids.
