Fun driving for kids (and dad) January 6, 2009 A fun story-based game with different driving challenges. The driving experience is half-realistic and half-cartoonish, but is very easy, forgiving, and fun for kids. Even my 4-year-old can drive. I got it for the kids, but I find myself playing even when they are in bed. I think once the story is "played out", adults and older kids will loose interest, but the younger kids can still just drive around town, and ignore the storyline. The head-to-head 2-player games are not as good as they could be, since the split-screen orientation makes it difficult to see where you are going. Recommended for kids and families.
Cars: Great Movie, Good Game December 3, 2008 Cars is a pretty fun game. I like it a lot. I'll tell you a a few things about the game.
Story mode is where you play single player. You get to be Lightning McQueen and drive around Radiator Springs. You unlock lots of races. When you unlock a Piston Cup race you move on to the next chapter if you place fourth or better in the race. In story mode you can also collect bonus points, which look like balls with lightning bolts inside it. There is a different amount of points for different colors:
Red balls: 100 bonus points These are super easy to collect! They are always just laying around!
Silver bolts: 500 bonus points These ones are sometimes hard and sometimes easy to find.
Yellow and green: 2000 bonus points These ones are hard to find and are mostly found in hard to get to places.
You can spend your bonus points to unlock cars, videos, artwork, paint jobs, and more.
To play in two player mode you have to go to the arcade and select a race to play. Then turn on the second wii remote. Next you get to choose your cars. Then, racing time! There will be a split screen with a player on the top and bottom. That's how to play two player mode! You can also play in the arcade by yourself.
One thing I don't like are the controls for this game. You have to turn the remote on it's side like in the cow racing game on Wii Play. It makes it very hard to turn sharply. So while you're in a race and your opponents are turning very easily, you are skidding off of the track! I've lost my lead several times because of that!
Here are some pros and cons of this game.
Pros:
*Not hard to unlock mini games and races. *Little kids can drive around town if they want to play. *Good graphics. *You can choose your own music that will play when you race and drive. *You won't get bored easily!
Cons:
*Bad controls for turning. *Can hurt your thumbs after a while! *Some races are very, very hard to beat. The Sheriff's Chase race especially! *Music is not the best, as the choices are limited. Some music is good though.
Overall this is a fun game for everyone! While it may not be the best for the Wii, it is fun to play. I like it!

Great for cars lover! August 15, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My son who is 3 years old, loves this movie. So when he saw the game he had to get it. It took him a few tries to get the hang of it, but overall he masters it pretty well. He does need help switching events, but loves the mini games like finding lizzie's postcards, tractor tipping & the story it tells during a break of events. It is also a game where a parent can play too! We love it here!!!
