It's so much fun! January 6, 2009 Kids love to cook with me at home, but it's a blast trying to cook with this game. They laugh at us because we can't even break an egg correctly,so now they are trying to teach us.It's a family fun game.
Cute, but appears made by 5th grader January 4, 2009 I bought this for me (32 year old female) so I could have fun with our wii too. This is not what I was expecting. If this was the only Wii game I had played I would have hated the wii. The directions are terrible, my husband and I keep going "What???" There is no help available and the directions are actually wrong sometimes! It says to add ingredients click B, but never mentions you have to whip the remote to drop them in. There are several things I have never mastered, but don't even know what I am doing wrong. I sit there and move the remote like I am supposed to but it doesn't register sometimes. And other times my husband or I will get bonus points for absolutely no reason that we can determine. My 10 year old son thought this was going to be a GREAT game. After 2 recipies I couldn't force him to play it any more, he hated it. I still play it, as I am figuring some of it out. And I want it to work, the concept is cute, but I am so frustrated by it. And I have no idea what I am cooking because I am just so focused on doing it right! My son noticed that we were adding crab to the scrambled eggs. I got it on sale and still wouldn't buy it again.
It's fun and simple December 31, 2008 We are not crazy about video games and probably only play on Wii for maybe 30 minutes a day at the most. This game was so simple to learn that it's very easy and fun. It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out how to do thing as the instructions are clearly printed on each step. One dish would take about 5~10 minutes and that's plenty for us. However, if you are a serious gamer who likes strategies or fighting games, you would not like this since it's very simple. This works well with younger kids or adults who do not like time consuming, heavy skill games.
Glad I Rented It First - Will NOT Buy! December 30, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I just rented this game because I was considering purchasing it to start our new Wii collection (we just received a Wii for Christmas). Boy am I glad I rented it first (even though that cost me $7 for 5 days!).
I really can't believe this game has gotten so many positive reviews. I am sitting here wondering what is so great about it. Am I missing something?
The wiimote can be hard to manuever to fit what the game wants you to do. Often times I am doing the motion it asks, but the game doesn't pick up on it. It gets very difficult to stir and chop vegetables. And the game becomes frustrating fast!
Oftentimes I think I am performing the directions the way they ask, but then Mama tells me to try harder. Or I didn't get many points. It never tells you what you could do better.
I am wishing I had of put my rental money toward another game - but at least I didn't purchase it to the tune of $20. I say pass this game by - or at least rent it to try it out yourself before making the committment.
Frankly kind of annoying... December 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love simulation games, especially those that involve cooking. When I received this game, I found it difficult to complete some of the tasks, even in training mode. Then, it seems like with this game more then ever, I will be completing the task, but the Wii doesn't sense it. It's really frustrating. There are quite a few recipies and the challenges are fun, but hard. This games says for everyone, but kids definitly would be frustrated with this game.
