Ok January 5, 2009 I bought this game the day after Christmas and it's fun to play but there isn't much to it. It's the same chop, grill etc. Also no matter what the secret ingriedient is it's always the same dishes with each one. it's ok, I wouldn't say I love or hate it.
Not worth the price January 4, 2009 My kids and I are great fans of Iron Chef so when my son found the game at the Navy Exchange, we bought it with great anticipation. Played it with much disappointment. I wish I had thought to check the reveiws because I would never have bought it other wise. It is boring, repetative and requires no skill or creativity. It don't recommend it for anyone. We've wasted our money and our time.
This game is awesome ! January 3, 2009 My 10 year old daughter received this game for Xmas. She has a real interest in cooking and we though she'd enjoy the "competition". She loves to watch the show & this game allows her to compete with her dad. Both of which like to cook. If you have an interest in doing real cooking, this could be a game for you. If you just like to watch the show, then this game may not be worth the money
Disappointing... December 29, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I had waited with much anticipation for this game. My boyfriend and I are fans of the tv show so I thought this would make a great holiday gift for us. Although there were no reviews posted when I purchased it, I reviewed the graphics and the descritpion and thought it sounded great! Now, I did not expect the reincarnation of the tv show, but it is NOTHING like I had expected.
The graphics and sound effects are great. I like the secret ingredients and menu choices-true to the show. Thats where the positives end for me. The motions involved in preparing the dishes are repetitive and so boring- as are the judges!! There is no skill involved. When you are plating the food, you are not even given the option of how to do so as they have it maped out for you and the console will not allow you to do so otherwise. The only items you are allowed to plate yourself are any garnishes the dish has. Whoopie!
I thought that the game would require a little bit a skill and creativity. I was very wrong and very disappointed. Definitely not worth the money.
Terrible Game December 27, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Stupid game. So disappointing that Iron Chef has lent it's name to this game. It is terrible. Remedial at best. Perhaps OK for a very young child. Don't waste your $40.
