Fun, tough game December 1, 2008 I tried this game about a year ago and liked it, but didn't think I would like it enough to purchase it myself. Over the past year I've thought about it more and ended up purchasing the game. I've gone through about half of it so far and find it fun, though the higher levels are becoming increasingly difficult.
Essentially you can choose a ball to use for each level, from super easy to hard. As you play the game and collect difficult to attain green gems you get more ball options and open secret levels. On each level you use the Wii remote to tilt the board, sometimes over 90 degrees, to get your ball to the end. This can involve falling through holes on moving platforms, floors that raise and lower making it difficult or impossible to stay on the track or cannons shooting you up to different "floors".
The key method to make the game difficult is by removing borders on the level so that you're balancing the ball on a track trying not to drop it off the side. There are other obstacles as well, but mainly balancing the ball and trying to get to the green gems are the difficulty.
The only difficulty I've run into is camera angles. You have no controls over the angle as you view the board. While that's is generally not a problem, it can be difficult seeing what is coming up next, making you guess and hope.
Overall this is an incredibly addicting game and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good puzzle game.
Bring out your inner marble maniac! July 15, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love this game! It's kinda like hardcore Marble Madness. Everything I expected and more. A nice selection of marbles to choose from. The controls "feel good." Very responsive to movement. The musical score, while many tunes are drawn from previous Hudson titles, is quite nice. You'll want to throw your marble (or controller) at the tv in some places, but don't ! It can be done!
A fun game even for someone who doesnt play video games! June 30, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am not a big video game player and I really like this game! I recently got a Wii (within the last month) and I purchased a used copy of this game on amazon..... I received my game a few days ago and I can hardly stop. You should get this game....gamer or not!
Great, Challenging Fun!! March 4, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My children and I played this at Grandma's house and fell in love with it. We are going to be getting our own very soon! It can be quite challenging (in a good way).
My 4 year old twin boys could not pass levels without me helping them hold the wiimote, but they loved watching their marbles roll off cliffs and fall down holes anyway. They also love seeing what new mazes come up after we've passed one. My 8 and 10 year old daughters had an easier time, but still needed my assistance once in a while. But that is good, they found it challenging, and therefore wanted to keep playing and playing until they were able to beat the level.
I also had a lot of fun with it, and had to fight my kids for a turn. This will be the game that Mommy and Daddy will stay up late playing after the kids are in bed!!
