Swing, thrust, slice November 29, 2008 The immersion you get with using the wii remote to swing the sword is much more fun than just pushing buttons to get through the RPG type story like in Soul Calibur II. The graphics are nice looking considering this is a Wii, not a higher powered, more memoried machine. The story is a lot of fun and the split screen for two player was easy to transition to. Anyone who has played a two player game(other than 2D or fighting games) should have no problem dealing with it.
I would normally only give this game a 4, but after seeing all these unnecessary and condescending 1 star ratings, I had to try and offset them by raising my rating to 5. It is an overall great game and it is fun by yourself or with a friend.
DON'T buy it. October 2, 2008 Do not buy Soul Calibur Legends, ok? Trust me, buy Soul Calibur IV or III instead. If you like this kind of game, buy Dynasty Warrior. It's a much better version. Soul Calibur Legends is overall a horrible game. DON'T buy this game if you know what's good for you.
Shouldn't be considered Soul Calibur September 26, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This game is an insult to all other Soul Calibur games. It has very poor graphics and online is a joke. The original characters are very ugly in this game and so are the new characters. The game's plot doesn't connect to other games in the series and doesn't make sense. No one who is a fan of the Soul Calibur series will like this game. The Wii should stick to games by Nintendo and not try to create a game from a very successful series. If you buy this game you are not a gamer and you never will be a gamer.
Painful to Play July 26, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Throwing in a control scheme just for the sake of making use of the Wii's motion sensing controller doesn't add anything to the gameplay. It just feels like a mediocre 3-D platformer that got made more complicated to play than it really should have been. The same goes for all the rest of the Wii and DS games where the controls were thrown in to make use of a gimmick.
Not all that July 25, 2008 You would think for a wii you would have some awsome sword slashing in one on one combat but its not like that at all. Any type of versus is in RPG enviornment so the best part of Soul Calibur is gone. Save your money and buy Soul Calibur 4 instead!!!
