Product Description
In PopStar Guitar, players assume the role of a lead guitarist on a musical journey, beginning in a garage band and eventually progressing to the main stage of a worldwide "Battle of the Bands" competition. The Wii version of PopStar Guitar features the AirG, an exciting new peripheral that snaps onto the Wii Remote and transforms the controller into an air guitar.

1 out of 5 stars Skip this one...unless you like frustration!   December 30, 2008
We got this game as an alternative to the hard rock/metal in Guitar Hero. It looked great in the previews, unfortunately it didn't translate well into play. Long story short, I took it back for a full refund. The Air G is super uncomfortable, the game has no "no fail" option so if you are beginning, you lose immediately and have to stick to the same song over and over. The Air G does not work properly when you try to hit the notes because A) it cramps your hands and B) it just doesn't hit the notes properly. Believe me we tried, 2 adults with Guitar Hero experience and 2 kids and neither of us enjoyed the game after 2 days of play, my kids wanted to throw it in the trash. Took it back for a refund. Hopefully Guitar Hero and Rock band will release more kid/tween friendly music later on, but trust me, skip this one or you will be very frustrated and sorry you blew $60!

3 out of 5 stars How to fix wiimote problem   December 29, 2008
1. you can contact xs games and they will offer to replace the "defective" AirG. The problem is that the issue is a design flaw, so unless they changed the configuration midway through production it won't fix the problem

2. I "fixed" mine be removing the two tiny screws and taking the home and plus buttons off completely. There are tiny springs behind them, maybe they are too long? My 8 year old can now play without any issues.

I can't believe that no one at the company picked up on this issue. It is pretty crappy that they would charge 60 [..] for something which the average idiot can figure doesn't work.

1 out of 5 stars Don't bother wasting your money or time on this one.   December 27, 2008
I thought this was going to be easier for us to use (an alternative to the guitar for Guitar Hero). The songs looked more my style and more appropriate for my kids (12, 9, and 7). However, the pause/home button is just in the worst spot possible, every note my son hit he was pausing the game and he's finished the easy level on GH. I realize I could just be spastic, but the grip was very uncomfortable for me to hold on to and changing notes was a lesson in futility unless I stared at my fingers.

The "easy" setting jumped right into using 3 keys rather than warming up with just two like GH does. There was only one song to play initially, you have to unlock all the rest, and when my husband did finish the first song, he unlocked a new tour vehicle, but no new song. Very boring, and annoying if you don't like that song (which I wasn't really into). I intend to return this, or resell it if I can't. There's a bunch of other games my family can play that will actually be fun.

1 out of 5 stars Airg keys stick   December 25, 2008
The approach to the Airg snaping over the Wii controller is fine but unfortunately the pair that came with my PopStar has problems pressing the underlying keys. (Colored key on the AirG when pressed in turn press down on some controller buttons)

One of them moves just enough on the controller that the game thinks I'm pressing the Green button and the other simply won't snap into place without one key or another getting stuck.

I just bought the game and these AirG add-ons are preventing me from evaluating the game play. I fully plan on returning it shortly and expect an exchange; hopefully the replacements won't have the same problem.
